Open the explorer and watch a background source bend into a ring, then arcs, as its alignment with the lens drifts.

  1. Open https://freetoolonline.com/space-3d/einstein-ring.html and wait for the scene.
  2. Watch the blue source drift behind the lens galaxy; when it is centred, its image is a full ring.
  3. As it drifts off-centre, watch the ring concentrate into two bright arcs.
  4. Read the facts panel: the Einstein radius, the 1.75 arcsec Sun deflection, and Eddington 1919.
  5. Pause the drift or hide the light rays.
