Open the explorer and watch the Moon wobble to see why we view 59% of its surface despite tidal locking.

  1. Open https://freetoolonline.com/space-3d/moon-libration.html and wait for the wobbling Moon.
  2. Read the facts panel: libration in longitude (7.9 deg), latitude (6.7 deg), and the 59% figure.
  3. Watch the blue sub-Earth dot drift off-centre - that drift is the libration.
  4. Toggle Exaggerate 5x to make the wobble obvious, or highlight the libration zone.
