Open the explorer and watch gas cross from one star to the other through the L1 bridge.

  1. Open https://freetoolonline.com/space-3d/roche-lobe-binary.html and wait for the two teardrop lobes.
  2. Find the white L1 dot where the orange and blue lobes meet.
  3. Slide the donor fill up until the orange star fills its lobe.
  4. Watch gas stream through L1 into the accretion disk around the companion.
  5. Toggle the mass transfer off and on, and read the facts panel for the terms.
