Sowohl .jpg- als auch .jpeg-Dateien enthalten dieselbe Byte-Sequenz: einen JPEG-Magic-Number-Header (die Bytes FF D8 FF), kodierte Bilddaten und Metadaten. Benennen Sie eine .jpg in .jpeg um - sie oeffnet sich immer noch. Den Bytes ist es egal.
