JPG to WebP Converter

Typical use: a site or app that wants WebP rather than JPG. WebP tends to hold the same visible quality in a smaller file than JPG for photographic content, so the output usually downloads lighter than the source - the exact saving depends on the picture.

A JPG carries no transparency channel, so the WebP it produces is fully opaque - there is no alpha to preserve, and you only manage the picture itself. Where your browser exposes it, the quality slider lets you dial the WebP down when you want a smaller download or up so the output tracks the source JPG as closely as possible before you save.

The JPG is decoded and repainted through the Canvas API inside this browser tab, then written back out as WebP, so the photo is processed on your device and never uploaded. Nothing you convert outlives the page session or reaches an analytics or tracking service, and there is no account or signup.
