Respuesta de 30 segundos. Zip cuando el destinatario esta en Windows, macOS o cualquier telefono - es el unico formato que abre sin software extra. 7z cuando controlas las herramientas del destinatario y quieres el archivo mas pequeno. Rar cuando debes abrir uno.

Que es cada formato

  • Zip. Formato de Phil Katz de 1989. Nativo en Windows desde XP, nativo en macOS, nativo en Android e iOS. Compatibilidad universal, compresion modesta.
  • 7z. Formato de Igor Pavlov de 1999. Usa LZMA2 por defecto - tipicamente 10-30% mas pequeno que zip en archivos con mucho texto. Necesita 7-Zip, The Unarchiver o app paga para abrir.
  • Rar. Formato propietario de 1993. Gratis para extraer, pago para crear con WinRAR oficial. Compresion fuerte similar a 7z.
