The first time you click Remove object (AI), a one-time model download of about 27 MB starts, and your browser caches it afterwards so later edits need no download. If you would rather not download anything, the Quick patch button fills the painted area instantly from the surrounding pixels - lower quality than the AI model, but immediate and still fully local.

Results save as a standard PNG. The AI is strongest on clutter set against sky, walls, ground, water, or other repeating texture; a large subject in front of complex detail is harder, so paint tightly around the object and review the fill before you keep it.
