Abelisaurus 3D Viewer runs a skull-only Argentine abelisaurid theropod in your browser. Drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, toggle a 1.8 m person for scale, and click the skull, a short forelimb, or a hind leg for a fossil-sourced fact.


Open the Abelisaurus page and take the camera

Open the Abelisaurus 3D Viewer and wait for the facts panel to fill. Orbit with the pointer and zoom with the scroll wheel or a two-finger pinch. The Abelisaurus facts panel lists length about 7.2-11 m (panel baseline 7.4 m), weight about 1.4-3 t (panel baseline 2 t), height about 2.5 m, era 83-80 Mya Late Cretaceous Anacleto Formation Argentina, carnivore diet, named by Bonaparte and Novas in 1985. Abelisaurus is known from a partial skull only - the full body follows related abelisaurids, not a complete Abelisaurus skeleton. Carnotaurus and Majungasaurus are abelisaurid siblings on this site for comparison - not the same animal. Soft-tissue color is an artistic reconstruction. Optional CC0/PD glTF (Model Magic via Printables 1767713) may swap in. This model is not a fossil-accurate skeleton.
