Compresion ZIP significa tomar un archivo, una seleccion de multiples archivos, o una carpeta entera y escribirlo en un archivo .zip que puedes enviar por email, subir, o respaldar como un solo adjunto. Las sub-carpetas permanecen anidadas dentro del archivo, asi que la estructura en el destinatario coincide con la estructura en tu lado.

La compresion ZIP ahorra espacio real en entradas tipo texto: texto plano, codigo fuente, CSV y JSON, logs, e imagenes sin comprimir. Apenas toca medios ya comprimidos - JPG, MP4, MP3, HEIC - porque los bytes ya estan empaquetados. Si el objetivo es un adjunto de correo mas pequeno para una foto o video, encoge esos archivos primero con un compresor de imagen o video, luego zipea el conjunto optimizado.
