How to Play Crystal Cave Flyer - Step by Step
The Crystal Cave Flyer page loads the game in an iframe (about 610 KB one time (mostly the shared 3D engine), then cached). Hold Space / click / touch to climb, release to sink. R restarts after a crash. Press Play to start.
Step 1 - press Play
Press Play to inject the game iframe (about 610 KB once, then cached). Your glider hovers in the cavern center and starts flying forward immediately.
Step 2 - one button, two directions
Hold Space, the mouse button, or a touch to climb; release to sink. There is no left-right steering - height is the whole game.
Step 3 - thread the walls
Rock walls slide toward you with one circular gap each. Line your height up with the gap early; the gap shrinks slightly as your distance grows.
Step 4 - scoop crystals
A crystal floats in the middle of many gaps. Flying within about one glider-height of it collects it for 25 points.
Step 5 - speed and bests
Forward speed rises with distance, up to roughly double the starting pace. A crash shows meters flown, crystals, and total score; the best total stays on this device under ftol:crystalcaveflyer:best.
