How to View Barosaurus in 3D
Barosaurus 3D Viewer runs a diplodocid sauropod with a longer neck than Diplodocus in your browser. Drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, toggle a 1.8 m person for scale, and click a body region for a fossil-sourced fact.
Open the Barosaurus page and take the camera
Open the Barosaurus 3D Viewer and wait for the facts panel to fill. Orbit with the pointer and zoom with the scroll wheel or a two-finger pinch. Fullscreen keeps the controls visible beside the scene. After first paint a license-clean glTF may swap in from the CDN; if that load fails the page stays on the procedural silhouette.
Use the four Barosaurus controls under the canvas
Under the Barosaurus canvas, four controls handle view and scale:
- Fullscreen - fills the display while keeping the buttons visible
- Stop rotation / Auto-rotate - freezes or resumes auto-spin
- Idle motion - adds subtle body sway; tap again for Stand still
- Size vs human - shows a 1.8 m person at the honest panel length ratio (26 m)
Read the Barosaurus facts panel and click a body part
The Barosaurus facts panel lists about 24-27 m (panel baseline 26 m), about 4.8 m proportional standing height (panel baseline; no direct published standing-height figure), about 12-20 t (panel baseline 17 t), about 150-145 Mya Late Jurassic; Morrison Formation, herbivore, and naming (Othniel Charles Marsh 1890; Morrison Formation). Longer neck than Diplodocus (16 vs 15 cervicals) and shorter tail. Does NOT use ~45 m / ~60 t figures now attributed to Supersaurus. AMNH rearing pose and ~15 m head height are debated behavioral inferences, not measured facts. A short click - not a drag - on a body region surfaces a short fossil fact. Soft-tissue color is an artistic reconstruction. When the sourced glTF loads, the status text notes a real model with credit - CC-BY-SA 4.0 glTF (seth the yutyrannus via Printables 885614) is stylized, not a laser scan. This model is not a fossil-accurate skeleton.

This how-to is a controls walkthrough only - it does not place the model in your room (no AR), it does not invent a single mass outside published ranges, it does not use ~45 m / ~60 t Supersaurus-reattributed estimates as Barosaurus figures; does not assert rearing-to-15-m head height as a measured fact, it does not invent game score or win states, and it does not claim the optional glTF is a scientifically exact reconstruction.
