How to View Ichthyosaurus in 3D
Ichthyosaurus 3D Viewer runs a dolphin-shaped Early Jurassic marine reptile - not a dinosaur - that gave birth to live young at sea. Drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, toggle a 1.8 m person for scale, and click a body part for a fossil-sourced fact.
Open the Ichthyosaurus page and take the camera
Open the Ichthyosaurus 3D Viewer and wait for the facts panel to fill. When the status line says you can drag, orbit Ichthyosaurus with the pointer and zoom with the scroll wheel or a two-finger pinch. Fullscreen expands the wrapper so the controls stay visible beside the scene. After first paint a license-clean CC-BY-SA 4.0 glTF may swap in automatically; if that load fails the page stays on the procedural body with zero regression.

The Ichthyosaurus facts panel lists length about 1-3.3 m across the genus (Britannica up to about 3 m / 10 ft; Size vs human uses a 2 m representative mid-range individual), weight about 90 kg for a roughly 2 m individual (figures vary by species and growth stage), the Early Jurassic window about 199 to 175 million years ago (same era as shipped Plesiosaurus, different lineage), conical teeth suited to gripping fish and cephalopods, large eye sockets implying good low-light vision, and discovery history - Mary Anning and her brother Joseph found a near-complete skeleton circa 1811-1812 at Lyme Regis, Dorset; Charles Konig named the genus in 1818; Henry De la Beche and William Conybeare described it in detail in 1821. Fossil evidence shows live birth at sea (viviparous), often tail-first - not egg-laying on land. It is Ichthyosauria, a marine reptile group separate from dinosaurs, from Mosasaurus (Mosasauria), and from Plesiosaurus (Sauropterygia). The procedural body shows a streamlined torso, dorsal fin, crescent tail fluke, and four paddle flippers. A short click - not a drag - on head, body, flipper, or tail surfaces a short fossil fact. Procedural skin color is an artistic choice; when the CC-BY-SA 4.0 glTF by seth the yutyrannus (via Printables) loads, the status text notes a real model with that credit - a stylized reconstruction, not a laser scan.
