How to View Pinacosaurus in 3D
Pinacosaurus 3D Viewer runs a Late Cretaceous armored ankylosaur from the Gobi Desert in your browser. Drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, toggle a 1.8 m person for scale, and click the head, armor, tail club, or a leg for a fossil-sourced fact.
Open the Pinacosaurus page and take the camera
Open the Pinacosaurus 3D Viewer and wait for the facts panel to fill. Orbit with the pointer and zoom with the scroll wheel or a two-finger pinch. Fullscreen keeps the controls visible beside the scene. After first paint a license-clean glTF may swap in from the CDN; if that load fails the page stays on the procedural silhouette.

The Pinacosaurus facts panel lists length about 5 m (Gregory Paul adult estimate; most known skeletons are smaller juveniles closer to 4 m), weight about 1.9 t (Paul; juvenile-heavy record around 1 t, published range roughly 1,000-2,100 kg), era 75-71 Mya Late Cretaceous Campanian in Mongolia and northern China (Djadokhta Formation), herbivore diet, named by Charles Gilmore in 1933 from a holotype found 1923 by Walter Granger at the Flaming Cliffs. Its differentiator is a cluster of extra small openings around each nostril (as many as five pairs), function still unknown. Tail club present but smaller than Ankylosaurus and undeveloped in juveniles. Soft-tissue color is an artistic reconstruction. Optional CC-BY 4.0 glTF (Pan Wolodyjowski via Printables) may swap in. This model is not a fossil-accurate skeleton.
