When to Play Layer Flip Platformer
Layer Flip Platformer fits when you want a short, keyboard-first skill run: flip light and dark layers with Space, clear hand-crafted stages, and leave without saving. It loads about ~44 KB after Play and needs no account.
When it fits
Pick it when you have a few minutes, a keyboard or gamepad, and you enjoy puzzle-platform timing more than endless score chasing. The distinctive mechanic is flipping the active layer mid-jump so platforms and spikes swap. Progress is session-only - closing the tab resets the run, which is ideal when you do not want saves on a shared machine.
When it is not the right pick
Skip it if you need touch-only mobile controls (this build has none), if you want an endless runner like Pixel Spike Run, or if you prefer one-tap dash platforming like One Tap Platformer. It also will not keep a high-score cloud save - there is no localStorage at all.
What to expect
Twenty-five hand-crafted stages, death and star counters, procedural Web Audio, and a title menu with controls help. Adapted from ONOFF (js13kGames 2018, MIT). Free, no ads in the iframe game, no install.

Why trust these tools
- Ten-plus years of web tooling. The freetoolonline editorial team has shipped browser-based utilities since 2015. The goal has never changed: get you to a working output fast, without an install.
- No install, no sign-up. Open a tool and get a working output in seconds - nothing to download and no account to create. Tools that need heavy processing run it on our service, so even a low-powered machine gets the job done.
- Analytics stops at the page view. We measure which pages get visited, not what you type or upload inside a tool. There is nothing to sign in to and no profile is attached to your input.
- Open-source core components. The processing engines underneath (libheif, libde265, pdf-lib, terser, clean-css, ffmpeg.wasm, and others) are public and audit-able. We link to each one in its tool page's footer.
- Free, with or without ads. All tools are fully functional without sign-up. The Disable Ads button in the header is always available if you need a distraction-free run.
