How to Use the 3I/ATLAS Interstellar Object 3D Explorer

Open the 3I/ATLAS Interstellar Object 3D Explorer and slide the selector (0-2) to compare 1I/'Oumuamua, 2I/Borisov, and 3I/ATLAS side by side, each with its own real published orbit, size, and coma-activity figures.

  1. Open https://freetoolonline.com/space-3d/3i-atlas-interstellar-object.html and wait for all three objects, their path curves, and the Sun to render.
  2. Drag the selector (0-2) to swap the highlighted object between 1I/'Oumuamua, 2I/Borisov, and 3I/ATLAS - the default position (2) shows 3I/ATLAS.
  3. Read the facts panel for the active object's real discovery date, orbital eccentricity, inclination, perihelion, speed, nucleus size, and coma status.
  4. Check the comparison table below the facts panel - the highlighted row is the active object.
  5. Notice how the three path curves widen as eccentricity rises - 'Oumuamua's is the tightest, 3I/ATLAS's is the widest, reflecting its real eccentricity of about 6.1.
