How to Explore Twilight Types 3D Explorer

Open Twilight Types 3D Explorer, move the depression-angle dial, and watch a bright ring sweep across the civil, nautical, and astronomical twilight bands drawn around Earth's terminator.

  1. Open https://freetoolonline.com/space-3d/twilight-types.html and wait for the Earth sphere and five twilight bands to render.
  2. Drag the depression-angle dial from 0 toward 18 degrees and watch the bright ring move from the daylight cap through civil, nautical, and astronomical twilight into full night; the facts panel names the current band.
  3. Drag the latitude slider to place the green marker at a different latitude's local-midnight point.
  4. Click "June solstice (N summer)" to see which latitudes get a "white night" - continuous civil twilight with no true darkness.
  5. Click "Equinox" or "December solstice (N winter)" to see how the same latitude's midnight depression changes with the season.
  6. Click "Reset" to return to the default view (dial at 6 degrees, latitude 64 degrees North, June solstice).
