A more evenly divisible total, such as $60 split three ways, lands exactly on $20.00 per person with no rounding gap at all. This cent-level difference is a property of dividing money into whole cents, not a bug in the calculator - the tip amount and total shown above the per-person line are always exact, only the per-person split can be off by a cent or two when the group size does not divide the total evenly.
