How to Use the Voyager Interstellar Position 3D Explorer

Open the Voyager Interstellar Position 3D Explorer, scrub the mission year from 1977 to 2026, and pick either probe - or the heliopause, the Kuiper Belt, Earth's orbit, or the Sun - to read its real NASA JPL distance and dates.

  1. Open https://freetoolonline.com/space-3d/voyager-interstellar-position.html and wait for the Sun, Earth's orbit ring, the Kuiper Belt, the heliopause, and both probe markers to render.
  2. Use the Object selector to pick Voyager 1, Voyager 2, the heliopause, the Kuiper Belt, Earth's orbit, or the Sun.
  3. Drag the Mission year slider (1977-2026) or click "Play Mission Timeline" to watch both probes travel outward.
  4. Watch each probe marker move along its dashed ray as the distance grows with the mission year.
