Step 2 - type a product, brand, or manufacturer

Short, generic keywords work best: "stroller", "space heater", "crib". The search checks recall titles first and automatically retries by manufacturer name when the title search finds nothing, so a firm name works too. The optional hazard box narrows results to a hazard keyword like "choking" or "fire" - useful for questions like "recalled heaters with a fire hazard".

Step 3 - read the recall cards

Each card shows the official recall title (linked to the cpsc.gov notice), the announcement date and recall number, the manufacturer and country of manufacture, remedy badges - refund, repair, or replace - the affected product models and unit counts, the hazard, reported incidents, what to do, and where the product was sold. Long result sets stay readable: the page shows the newest 25 with a count line naming how many matched in total.

Step 4 - act on a match

If a product you own matches, stop using it immediately - especially anything for babies or children - then open the official notice from the card's title link and compare the model number and date codes. The remedy (refund, repair, or replacement) is provided free of charge by the firm; the notice has the contact details.
